Marilda Coetzee

ABOUT ME

I began my Pilates journey in 2009 when I completed my course through Body Arts and Science International (BASI).

 

After finishing the course in 2010, I started working at Inside Out Pilates Studio in Midstream. In 2011, I opened my first studio, Perfect Balance, in Centurion. I loved every moment and knew right then that this was my passion. Over the years, I have taken several courses to improve my skills and expand my knowledge to better serve my clients. In 2017, I completed a Nutritional Advisor course.  2024, I became a certified Health Coach, and 2025 I did a Gut Health course through IIN.

 

When you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life—and that's exactly how I feel!

 

In 2020, we made the decision to move to Cape Town, which turned out to be the best decision ever!

 

My new studio, The Body Pad, is my pride and joy, and I warmly welcome everyone to join me for an amazing Pilates experience.

Why Pilates

at the body pad

We emphasise technique, breath, anatomy, and controlled movement in each class.

Our classes incorporate low-impact exercises designed to improve overall strength, flexibility, stability, alignment, and posture, all while maintaining a strong focus on the body’s core.

We use a variety of props in our group classes, such as therabands, small balls, magic circles, foam rollers, and weights. Modifications and progressions are available to ensure that each class is both fun and challenging.

For our Private and Duet classes, we are fully equipped with Reformers, Cadillacs, and Wunda Chairs.

 

Our instructor is BASI-certified.

PRIVATE CLASSES | R320

​Private classes are designed to deliver individualised instruction based on a persons fitness needs, goals, and schedule. Clients may choose to do the entire workout on the mat or on the specialised Pilates equipment.

DUET CLASSES | R220 PP

When two students share a workout we refer to it as duet class. These classes are similar to privates in that you and your partner receive more personalised attention than you would in a small group equipment class. It is a fun and healthy way to spend time with a friend or loved one.

GROUP MAT CLASSES | R120

Pilates mat classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. The instructor presents the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced pace. Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. Various props (eg. therabands, foam rollers, Pilates rings, light weights, balls, and much more) are incorporated to enhance and intensify the workout. No previous Pilates experience is necessary to join a mat class.
